Skin and sushi may seem like unlikely bedfellows, but not for one Miami Beach restaurant.
Kung Fu Kitchen and Sushi at the Catalina Hotel & Beach Club is offering a complete sushi dinner on rather bare plates - nude models.
Patrons willing to drop at least $500 can order as much as five to six feet of sushi on a scantily clad body, local television station WPLG reported.
?
"The chef basically makes an omakase, which is the Japanese word for chef's choice," the restaurant's owner, Nathan Lieberman, told WPLG.
The restaurant has had three of the naked sushi feasts so far, according to ABC News. The special is being offered for the Miami's restaurant month, Miami Spice.
The deal has been a hit with Lieberman's employees, who offered their services to the restaurant owner so he didn't have to hire models from an actual modeling agency.
"I have a very good-looking staff," Lieberman told ABC. "They said, 'We want the money, and we like to be naked.'"
Nyotaimori, the practice of serving sushi or sashimi on bodies, was banned in China in 2005 after the government issued a notice citing health reasons and moral issues, according to Xinhua news agency.
But Florida officials say their are no health issues to worry about if the restaurant is taking the right precautions.
"Generally speaking, as long as the restaurant is adhering to FDA rules regarding no bare skin contact, it should be in compliance," Sandi Poreda, a spokeswoman for Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation, told ABC.

Lieberman says the models are washed like "surgeons" before the dinner begins and banana leaves are strategically placed on the models' private parts.
The restaurant owner said he's learned a lot from his new culinary endeavor.
"There's a lot of things you don't think about when it comes to naked sushi," Lieberman told ABC. "Now, we put plastic over the nipples, like Saran, and then we cover the nipples in wasabi."
